Lonely Fans: Sponsor Rocky

$10.00

Meet Rocky the Sulfur crested cockatoo

65 Years Young. Still Got It.

Status: Loud, proud, and looking for lifelong fans.
Likes: Attention, clever banter, and showing off.
Dislikes: Being ignored (seriously, don’t even try).

About me: Hello! “Hello Rocky!”
Yep, that’s me – Rocky, the iconic sulphur-crested cockatoo who’s been stealing hearts (and snacks) for over 65 years.

I’m smart, sassy, and endlessly social. I can say “I’m a cockatoo” (which, to be fair, is obvious), and if you’re lucky, I’ll demonstrate what a rocketship does: “Zoooooom!”
It’s a hit. Every time.

I’ve out-chatted generations of keepers and outlived a few prime ministers – and I’m still going strong. But even legends need support.

These days I live at Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, where I’m loved, cared for, and kept endlessly entertained (or else I squawk). But keeping a cockatoo like me happy, healthy, and stimulated takes work—and that’s where you come in.

For $10/month, you can join my Lonely Fans and help cover:

  • Specialised nutrition to keep me sharp and shiny

  • Enrichment toys and games (a bird’s gotta stay busy)

  • Ongoing vet care for senior superstars like me

In return, I’ll shower you with:

  • Monthly updates full of cockatoo charisma

  • Adorable photos and videos

  • A digital fan certificate and the undying love of an Aussie icon

Let’s be honest—I’m not lonely. I’m just waiting for the right fans. Think you can keep up?

Lonely Fans: Sponsor a Wild Soul

At Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, we care for animals who’ve been displaced, injured, or orphaned due to habitat destruction, extreme weather, or human activity. These incredible animals are no longer just wildlife – they’re wild souls in need of support.

Through Lonely Fans, we’re inviting animal lovers (yes, you!) to connect with our residents in a new way: as fans.

Each animal has their own Lonely Fan profile, a personality-filled bio, and a real story. From Arni the koala to Pepita the parrot, your sponsorship makes a real difference in their daily lives – from food to vet care to long-term sanctuary upgrades.

Why This Matters:

  • Koalas like Arni are now endangered in many parts of Australia.

  • Rising costs of care, rehabilitation, and habitat restoration are stretching wildlife centres thin.

  • Your recurring donation helps us provide consistent care and long-term planning.

This isn’t charity fluff. This is real, tangible help – dressed up with a bit of humor and heart to reach more people who can make a difference.

💛 Ways You Can Help:

  • Sponsor an animal for as little as $10/month

  • Share your Lonely Fan’s story on socials to help raise awareness

  • Gift a sponsorship to a friend who loves animals.

Become a Lonely Fan today. Because no one should be this wild and alone.
