BOOK WEEK AT THE SANCTUARY
16–23 August
There’s magic in the air (and in the trees) as we celebrate Book Week here at the Sanctuary! From the 16th to the 23rd of August, join us for a week dedicated to stories, wildlife and wonder.
We’re kicking off in the most exciting way — with a special Meet the Author and Book Signing on Sunday 16th August featuring An Antechinus in the Attic by local author Viranne Mischon. Come along for a live reading and get your copy signed while surrounded by the very creatures that inspired the tale.
Throughout the week, guests are invited to browse our growing collection of nature-inspired reads — from children's storybooks and field guides to Australian wildlife tales for all ages. It’s the perfect chance to grab a book about your favourite animal, grab a warm beverage from our café, snuggle up, and let the sanctuary’s peaceful bushland bring the stories to life!
You can also Book an Adventure this Book Week!
Embracing the theme for Book Week this year we're delighted to bring the enchantment of wildlife to your school's doorstep. You can reserve a one-hour slot for an extraordinary encounter with one of our wildlife Keepers. The keepers will read a captivating wildlife story, but that's not all - they'll be accompanied by none other than some Australian reptiles!
Students will learn the basics of Snake Safety and some of the incredible adaptive skills possessed by reptiles and why we must take care of them.
Bring the family, meet the animals, and discover something new on the page — it’s a celebration of reading with a wild twist. 📚🐾
