Wild Events, New Flavours & Backing Local Legends This EOFY

As the cooler months roll in, the sanctuary has been anything but quiet.

From unforgettable community events and exciting new winter cinema nights to fresh café flavours and a renewed focus on supporting the animals in our care, there’s been plenty happening behind the scenes — and plenty still to come.

This season is all about connection: connecting with wildlife, with community and with the stories that make this place so special.

Back A Local Legend ❤️

Every animal in our care has a story — and this EOFY, you can help write the next chapter.

From daily food and specialised care to habitat maintenance and conservation efforts, every donation directly supports the animals who call the sanctuary home.

Whether it’s helping feed a curious koala, care for a recovering reptile or protect endangered native species, your support makes a real difference where it matters most.

This EOFY, help us continue protecting wildlife, inspiring connection and caring for some of Australia’s most iconic animals.

🐾 Donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Meet the Legend Behind the Menu

Big flavours, local ingredients and a whole lot of passion — our café kitchen has been busy crafting a fresh new menu designed to surprise, comfort and delight.

Leading the charge is Head Chef Ben, who brings 18 years of kitchen experience and a genuine love for creating memorable food experiences.

Inspired by vibrant produce, global flavours and a little macadamia magic, the new menu blends fresh, clean and fun dishes with something for everyone.

And according to the team, the King Macca Salad might just become your unexpected new obsession.

For him, it’s never just been about food — it’s about feeding people, creating moments and bringing calm to the chaos.

Community Nights We Won’t Forget

Wild After Dark: Burgers & Brews 🍔🍺

What. A. Night.

Last month we threw open the gates for Wild After Dark: Burgers & Brews and the atmosphere from start to finish was something really special.

The team from Main Street Burger Bar absolutely delivered with next-level burgers, cold brews were flowing and live music drifted through the sanctuary as locals gathered under the Byron hinterland skies.

Most importantly, the community showed up in the best way possible.

To everyone who came along, brought friends and helped create such an incredible atmosphere — thank you. Nights like these are exactly why we love doing what we do!

Nourish: Mother’s Day Wellness High Tea 🫖✨

In May, the sanctuary transformed into a peaceful space for restoration and connection during Nourish — an intimate Mother’s Day wellness experience.

Guests enjoyed a beautifully presented high tea, complimentary bubbles and a guided experiential wellness workshop led by Integrative Therapist Lisa Clark.

From watercolour painting and journalling to breathwork and yoga nidra, the afternoon offered guests the rare opportunity to truly slow down and reconnect in the natural surrounds of the sanctuary.

With just 30 guests, the experience was intentionally intimate, calm and deeply restorative.

Upcoming: Wild Winter Cinema Series 🎬❄️

This winter, Wild After Dark is back — and we’re bringing three magical Outdoor Cinema Nights to the sanctuary across all three months of winter.

From family favourites to cosy community nights under the stars, the Wild Winter Cinema Series is all about bringing people together for evenings filled with movies, fresh air, great food and unforgettable atmosphere.

So rug up, grab your picnic blankets and settle in for a winter of outdoor movie magic.
